Terry Kennedy (born May 2, 1985), commonly known as "Compton Ass Terry" or "TK", is a professional skateboarder. His sponsors are Baker, Supra, Active Ride Shop, KR3W, Venture, Shake Junt, Brigada Eyewear, Gold Wheels, Brick Harbor and Fly Society.
Kennedy appeared on Bam Margera's MTV shows Viva La Bam and Bam's Unholy Union as well as Rob Dyrdek's "Fantasy Factory". He also made a cameo appearance in Snoop Dogg's chart topping song, "Drop It Like It's Hot", and in the video for Mistah Fab's song "Ghost Ride It". In addition he has appeared in the skateboarding video game Skate and its sequels Skate 2, 3 and Skate It.
In the early 2000's Terry assumed the role of Team Captain for Pharrell's Ice Cream Team.
In June 2005, Terry was shot twice while leaving a party in Long Beach. Once in the forearm and once in the jaw. "They thought they were going to make me stop skateboarding," the 25-year-old says with a half-smile. "Hell no! I'm going to keep going and stay positive." He made a full recovery.
In 2008 he made the switch to join Supra. It's with Supra that Terry acknowledges he felt his first taste of fame: "This is going to sound corny as hell but when I saw my best friend's 2-year-old daughter with her Justin Bieber doll wearing my Supra shoes, that's when I knew I made it."
In 2010 BET premiered his reality TV show "Being Terry Kennedy". The show gives a glimpse into the day to day life of Kennedy, from working on business deals to skating to rapping to spending time with his family. He is very much involved in his community and takes his responsibility as a role model very seriously.
